As part of my MBA journey at Business School Renmin University of China (Renmin Business School or RMBS for short), I had the opportunity to participate in the SNOC (Select Network Online Courses) course Pricing and Managing Sustainable Assets, offered by the Yale School of Management through the Global Network for Advanced Management (GNAM). This experience was both academically enriching and professionally insightful, allowing me to engage with emerging ideas in sustainable finance within a truly global learning environment.

The course explored how sustainability considerations are increasingly influencing financial markets and investment decisions around the world. Topics such as environmental, social, and governance (ESG) integration, sustainable asset valuation, and climate related financial risks were discussed in depth. Through these discussions, the course demonstrated how sustainability is no longer a peripheral concern but an essential component of modern asset management and long term investment strategies.

One of the most valuable aspects of the course was the opportunity to learn from Professor Todd Cort of the Yale School of Management, whose teaching combined strong academic foundations with practical industry insights. The course also featured guest speakers from the sustainability and investment sectors who shared real world perspectives on how institutions are responding to the growing demand for sustainable finance. These sessions helped connect theoretical concepts with the practical realities faced by investors, corporations, and policymakers.

Another unique element of the SNOC course was the global classroom environment. Students from different universities within the Global Network for Advanced Management participated in the sessions, bringing diverse professional experiences and perspectives into the discussions. This international exchange of ideas greatly enriched the learning process and reflected the collaborative spirit that defines the GNAM network.

For me personally, the course deepened my understanding of how sustainability and finance intersect in shaping the future of global markets. It highlighted how responsible investment approaches can contribute to both financial performance and broader societal impact. The knowledge gained from this course will be valuable in navigating the evolving landscape of global finance.

I am grateful to Renmin Business School for providing MBA students with access to such global learning opportunities through the GNAM network. Programs like SNOC allow students to connect with leading institutions such as the Yale School of Management and to engage with important global topics that will define the future of business and finance.
